Does anyone remember the old Critical hits charts from the 2E game ? I was toying around with the notion of re-inventing them as a house rule for my campaigns.

I think the main reason why they got rid of the critical hit system is because players were getting the short end of the stick. It is very easy for a low-level monster to kill a 20th-level Player character.

Ahhh, yes. Combat & Tactics. Such fine memories.

We actually still use those rules for our Game today! It makes a critical hit even more exciting.

I hated the critical system for 2e, one time my character got her head chopped off.

Using the old critical hit system is a baaaad idea. Players die waaay too quick that way. You want your players to stick around for awhile I would assume ?
